White Flower Farm : Adenophora confusa

confused Adenophora

We must admit a preference for blue flowers. Adenophora is a kind of bellflower family, with about 40 species of bluebells hard to tell if you're a botanist. By far the best one is our old friend, A. confused, or Bells Lady, a beautiful plant whose roots are lines 36-40in large blue-purple flowers in July and August This is another excellent blue no enemies on the color wheel, and is an easy keeper in full sun or partial shade, moist but well drained soil. (He fights in the dry heat of the desert southwest). Gardener in the south may find that a little goes a long way. The surplus can be dug in the spring.
